The Ian Martin Allison Signature Super Polished bass string set is the result of a collaboration with renowned session and touring bassist Ian Martin Allison. His vision was to combine the punch of stainless steel round wound strings with the smooth feel typically associated with flat wound strings, with specific modifications to suit his diverse playing requirements.
The original formula was adjusted with modified string gauges and a slightly less polished outer wrap to retain a touch more edge. Additionally, a custom pink and grey silk wrap was incorporated. The resulting strings offer a unique tonal characteristic that leans towards the sound of round wound strings while providing the smooth playing feel of flat wound strings.
