Building on over three decades of pioneering nylon tape string technology, La Bella proudly introduces the 7710T White Nylon Tape Wound Double Bass set—a bold evolution in jazz string design. Inspired by the legacy of the original black nylon tape sets, the 7710T captures the unmistakable warmth of gut and the long, singing sustain of steel, all without the fragility of gut or the brightness of traditional chrome-wound strings.
What sets the 7710T apart is its proprietary white nylon tape winding, a specially developed formula that delivers an even smoother feel under the fingers and a brighter, more articulate tone compared to its black nylon counterpart, the 7710N. The result is a uniquely refined string ideal for jazz pizzicato—especially when clarity, separation, and tonal precision are needed for solo performance.
The enhanced surface also makes these strings incredibly comfortable to play, promoting speed and accuracy without excessive tension. While designed primarily for pizzicato, the 7710T strings respond surprisingly well to arco techniques when paired with a carbon fiber bow and soft, sticky rosin, producing a clear, controlled tone with excellent definition.
